2022 is almost behind us, but that doesn’t mean the family fun has to end on The Grand Strand. This year has been another fantastic year of fun, welcoming new and returning families with children of all ages to Myrtle Beach, and there is no shortage of excitement for everyone here. We wanted to take a bit of time to highlight some of our favorite family and kid-friendly activities in our area, because we know that nothing says beach fun like fun for the whole family! 

One of the best ways for the whole family to spend a day learning and exploring is by visiting the always popular Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach, and there’s no better time than this winter! Every holiday season, Ripley’s hosts the Festival of Trees, a magical journey through the many cultures and fandoms of the United States with themed trees and hoilday cheer. These themed trees are adorned in decorations and ornaments representing each of our 55 great states and territories, with everything from a South Carolina tree packed with seashells and magnolias to a Louisiana Mardi Gras tree and more! Kids can also participate in a scavenger hunt to identify each state, adding to the fun. This Festival is included for free with an admission ticket to the aquarium, so don’t miss out! 

On December 3rd, the Aquarium will also host Breakfast with Santa, and no holiday trip would be complete without it! Your little ones will love a day of festive holiday crafts, writing letters to Santa, and magical photo opportunities, all while enjoying breakfast bites with the man himself. Also on deck are Elf Dive Shows and admission to the aquarium with your purchase, so be sure to reserve your spot – it will fill up fast! 

Want to let your kids get their energy out while also staying warm this winter? Stop in to Rockin’ Jump, the most exciting trampoline park in Myrtle Beach! From an 80-foot long Ninja Challenge, a Wipe Out play area, and climbing walls to a fully open free jump trampoline zone, Rockin Jump is a thrilling way for all ages to get active and have fun indoors. 

Of course, no trip to The Grand Strand would be complete without a trip to Brookgreen Gardens and the adjoining Lowcountry Zoo! Your children will be amazed by the wildlife on display, from alligators to bald eagles, grey foxes to adorable river otters, and families will love seeing these species and more in their natural habitats. While you’re there, be sure to attend the Night of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens, one of our favorite ways to celebrate holiday magic in the area.
